Hajira Buser

Educator - EL - Friendship Learning Center

My name is Hajira هجرة Buser.

I have a voracious appetite for learning and I come from a family of educators: my mother is a master educator & university supervisor of clinicians, my godmother a mathematician & technical instructor, my uncle an expert guest lecturer who endowed a scholarship at his alma mater, & my aunt a professor emerita. I am originally from Texas and pursued my undergraduate studies in the USA, Central America, & Ireland. My master’s degree is in leadership & policy analysis with my thesis on evidence-based linguistic programs with an emphasis on multilingualism & the impact of second & tertiary language acquisition on brain development. I studied a love of laughter from my dad who has a PhD in jokes. I take delight in meditation, turning wrench, tea parties, & powerlifting. I harvest wild edibles & practice organic gardening with heirloom seeds—our mammalian immunoregulatory systems coevolved to benefit from exposure to the microbial environment of nature.

Blush & rosé are my signature colors~

I’m immensely excited for the promise of a new school year & to meet you!

Pictures from different continents...

a rare book collection as I love reading, visiting my family in the Middle East, Amazon rainforest preceding fishing for piranha, European culinary center, hiking atop a glacier après-dog sledding, & American aviation
