Meals for Onsite and Remote Learners

  • Meal Information - Onsite & Remote Learners

  • Starting Monday, February 1, 2021:

  • Monday Meal Pick Up (100% Remote Learners) - Newton High School (800 E 4th St S) - NOTE NEW TIME: 11:00 AM - 11:30 AM - SIGN UP NEEDED

  • 5 Breakfasts + 5 Lunches = FREE TO ALL ENROLLED STUDENTS

  • SIGN UP HERE: NCSD Remote Learning Lunch Orders

  • *If you cannot pick up your meals on Mondays from 11:00 AM - 11:30 AM, please call our Food Service Department at 641.792.5797 X2001 or X2090 to set up an alternate time. Thank you!

Meals for Remote Learners during Remote Instruction due to a building/district closure

  • Monday through Friday Plan

    • Meals will be picked up on Mondays and Thursdays at Newton High School and Berg Middle School from 11:00am - 12:30pm

    • Meals are free.

    • NO SIGN UP REQUIRED FOR FULL SCHOOL CLOSURE

Health and Safety

Strategies to keep our students safe are summarized below. For a comprehensive list of health and safety measures regarding Food Service, go to our NCSD COVID-19 Health and Safety Plan and click on "Food Service."

    • Wash hands before and after meal

    • Social distancing guidelines should be followed as much as possible

    • Salad bars will not be available

    • All available food items of the day will be served

Use cafeteria seating in the following ways:

    • Cafeteria should be used at limited capacity at both breakfast and lunch - no more than 50%

    • Suggested seating arrangements

      • Long table options

        • All students on one side of the table facing the same direction

        • 4 students on each side in a zig-zag formation

      • Round table options

        • All four students on the same side

        • Students sit every other seat

    • Keep kids in like groupings

    • Utilize alternative school settings, such as classrooms, to spread out seating

    • When possible, eat outdoors
