I have done a few new things since we met (TEL Inservice), nothing I have created a formal lesson plan for. I read my students the book "Fry Bread" and we talked about the history of bannock as an Indigenous food - specifically related to the disappearance of the bison as a food source. Then we had a parent guest come in and teach us how to make bannock.
I'll attach a classroom treaty I did with my Grade 4's - its written in French so I told them it was a great deal for the class but they couldn't read it. It was funny how many chose to trust me and signed it. A handful held out because they didn't want to sign something they couldn't read. This all lead to great discussions about whether the treaties were fair because they were in English.
