Metis Bead Work Painting
As part of Porcupine Plain's "Unity in the Community" event, teachers Stacey Irving and Lorelle Steiestol wanted Grade 1 & 2 learners to create art pieces that reflected the ideas of Reconciliation.
Using Métis traditional beading patterns, they used paint and markers to "bead with stamps".
It was a big hit with the learners, and the teachers had fun too!
They used Métis and Anishinaabe Beading Templates as a base for their art.
