Royal Saskatchewan Museum

For the past few years, the Royal Saskatchewan Museum (RSM) has hosted an online presentation about residential school experiences.

" Orange Shirt Day is commemorated annually on September 30th. It opens the door to global conversation on all aspects of Residential Schools and is an opportunity to create meaningful discussion about the effects of Residential Schools and the legacy they left behind. A discussion all Canadians can tune into and create bridges with each other for reconciliation. A day for survivors to be reaffirmed that they matter, and so do those that have been affected. Every Child Matters, even if they are an adult, from now on. "

Orange Shirt Day 2022 (46:01) "Join Brad Bellegarde and Life Speaker and Residential School survivor, Tim Poitras, in conversation about the legacy of Residential Schools. Including musical performances by InfoRed. Brought to you by Saskatchewan Teachers' Federation and the Friends of the Royal Saskatchewan Museum. "

Orange Shirt Day 2021 (35:25) "Life Speaker and Residential School Survivor, Tim Poitras from Muscowpetung First Nation speaks with students about his residential school experience. Musician and youth mentor Brad Bellegarde, aka InfoRed, shares his song “I Remember”, honouring his parents as residential school survivors.
