WELCOME TO GRADE 4!! EXPLORE THE SUBJECT TABS TO DISCOVER WHAT YOU ARE LEARNING THIS YEAR!!
In this unit we will be identifying and describing patterns in a chart, table, or diagram by using manipulatives. You will also be creating charts, tables, or diagrams to represent patterns and solving problems.
For this first lesson you will be finding patterns in a hundred chart and on a calendar.
Watch the videos below to learn how to find patterns on a hundred chart and a calendar.
Go to Google Classroom and complete the assignment called, Lesson 1: "Patterns in Charts" in the Classwork section under the Math 4. Patterns and Equations Unit.
Turn in the assignment for grading.
For extra practice work on learning about graphs, go to IXL Math Grade 4 Number Sense Section and work on the following: L.1 to L.13.
In the last lesson we were learning how to find patterns in a hundred chart or a calendar.
In this lesson we will be learning how to extend number patterns when given a series of numbers or figures.
Watch the videos below to learn how to extend number patterns and to extend figure patterns and how to record the information on a chart.
Go to Google Classroom and complete the assignment called, Lesson 2: "Extending Number Patterns" in the Classwork section under the Math 4. Patterns and Equations Unit.
Turn in the assignment for grading.
For extra practice work on learning about graphs, go to IXL Math Grade 4 Number Sense Section and work on the following: L.1 to L.13.
In the past lessons you have been extending patterns and finding pattern rules.
In this lesson you will be using grid paper to represent and extend patterns. You are also encouraged to use pattern blocks to represent the patterns that you are extending.
Watch the videos below to learn how to represent number patterns.
Go to Google Classroom and complete the assignment called, Lesson 3: "Representing Patterns" in the Classwork section under the Math 4. Patterns and Equations Unit.
Turn in the assignment for grading.
For extra practice work on learning about graphs, go to IXL Math Grade 4 Number Sense Section and work on the following: L.1 to L.13
We have been learning about how to extend patterns and to find pattern rules.
For the next lessons we are learning about how to solve equations involving addition and subtraction.
We will be learning different strategies to solve equations involving the following: use counters, draw a picture, guess and test, and mental math.
Go to Google Classroom and complete the assignment called, Lesson 4: "Equations Involving Addition and Subtraction" in the Classwork section under the Math 4. Patterns and Equations Unit.
Turn in the assignment for grading.
For extra practice work on learning about graphs, go to IXL Math Grade 4 Number Sense Section and work on the following: J.1- J.7
We have been learning how to solve equations involving addition and subtraction.
In this lesson you will be learning how to solve equations using multiplication and division.
Watch the videos below to learn how to solve equations involving addition and subtraction
Go to Google Classroom and complete the assignment called, Lesson 5: "Solving Equations Involving Multiplication and Division" in the Classwork section under the Math 4. Patterns and Equations Unit.
Turn in the assignment for grading.
