John Lewis was born on February 2 1940  just outside of Troy Alabama. His mom and dad’s names were Willie Mae and Eddie Lewis. He had nine siblings, 6 boys and three girls he also loved school. Later on he married Lilian Miles and they had a kid named John Miles. He was a civil Rights activist who led hundreds of people to Montgomery and received a courage lifetime achievement. Sadly John Lewis died of cancer in 2020. I hope he will be remembered for helping make the rights of people. John Lewis walked fifty four miles to alabama. On July first 1961 John Lewis got thrown out of a bus. Also on May 24 1961 he spent 37 days in jail. John Lewis got knocked out for riding the bus with white people. John Lewis also casted a vote to help a black kid become better in the hospital. His middle name is Robert. When John Lewis was in high school people teased him for being black and that made John Lewis mad so his life he was mad so he tried to make equal. John Lewis survived bloody sunday. When John Lewis got older he lived in sweden. John Lewis would always go to hospitals to help black people in need of help. John Lewis flew to africa to help black people he gave them food,money,stuff to help with their homes,and water. John Lewis said when he was an adult that he was prepared to die and that is one of his most famous quotes. When his wife Lilian Miles died he never got remarried. John Lewis got a freedom award for helping with freedom the most.
