John Lewis was born on February 2 1940 just outside of Troy Alabama. His mom and dad’s names were Willie Mae and Eddie Lewis. He had nine siblings, 6 boys and three girls he also loved school. Later on he married Lilian Miles and they had a kid named John Miles. He was a civil Rights activist who led hundreds of people to Montgomery and received a courage lifetime achievement. Sadly John Lewis died of cancer in 2020. I hope he will be remembered for helping make the rights of people. John Lewis walked fifty four miles to alabama. On July first 1961 John Lewis got thrown out of a bus. Also on May 24 1961 he spent 37 days in jail. John Lewis got knocked out for riding the bus with white people.
