Amelia Earhart was born on July 24, 1897. Amelia's full name is Amelia Mary Earhart. She was born in her mother’s house in Kansas. Her sister’s name is Muriel. She loved the speed of things when she was little, she always worked hard in school too. Then she got so interested in airplanes that she took lessons. Amelia was taught by a girl pilot named Neta. And Amelia made friends with Neta too. She was known for being a brave woman because she was the first woman to fly a plane over the Atlantic Ocean alone. Amelia Earhart didn't just break records, Amelia opened windows for women to not be scared anymore or afraid. Amelia was always confident all the time either way there were really hard obstacles in her way. When Amelia found out her dad had cancer she flew all the way just to see him and comfort him. But sadly he died later in time from cancer he had. Amelia participated in a women's cross country for flying! Amelia was always kind to all kinds of people. Amelia was a nurse for world war one and she helped the men to get better. Amelia was alive during world war one! Amelia was in a female group for planes, and they were called the Ninety-Nines. Amelia once said ”you can do anything you decide to do”. People said that she did lots of speeches and they said she was a great role model all the time. Amelia was a risk-taker and really brave and curious and always helpful. She got her flying license when she was done with her lessons. When Amelia grew up she wanted to do one last flight so she wanted to go all the way around the world. So she found a partner to help her with flying and then the next day she took off. When Amelia and her partner were close to being done, they were running out of juice so they tried to find somewhere to land but they couldn't. And so people kept looking with boats but they could not find them over the pacific ocean. So on July 2, 1937 she disappeared over the Pacific Ocean while attempting to become the first female pilot to fly around the world. She hoped she was remembered for being brave and being a pilot!

Brave- Amelia was brave enough to fly solo over the Atlantic ocean. Risk-Taker- when Amelia was going over the Atlantic ocean with someone she knew he was not able to, cause she thought he drank too much. But she took a Risk to still do it. Curious-Amelia was always Curious about planes that she always wanted to know more about.
