Career Clusters and Pathways

Career Clusters are broad occupational groupings based on a set of common knowledge and skills required for a specific career. Career Pathways are a sub-grouping of occupations and career specialties used as an organizing tool for curriculum design and instruction.

A Program of Study (POS) is the recommended NHS curriculum for a student's four-year high school career. Programs of Study listed in the following pages show the possible courses a student could take. A student is not expected to take all of these courses, but to choose from this list the courses that best meet their individual career and educational goals. Students, along with their parent(s)/guardian(s), are responsible to verify course prerequisites and graduation requirements.
