Prospective students and visitors are the reason for the tour and for everything we do!
Offer the best experience possible
Remember the students’ names
Be interested in the students
What are you involved in at high school?
Are you excited for college?
Ask about the major they chose, why they are visiting, etc.?
You are constantly on-stage - Always be professional, genuine and respectful, even before and after your tour.
Share your experience
The facts are very important, but so is your experience. Share with visitors why you chose NDSU and some of your most memorable NDSU experiences. Keep in mind the tour is about the visitors.
Have Fun!
NDSU BISON GEAR IS STRONGLY ENCOURAGED WHEN GIVING A TOUR: T-SHIRTS, SWEATSHIRTS, HOODIES, ETC. (You will receive one apparel item per year. Please see Shea/Zeb if you do not have bison apparel)
Casual wear is suggested. Khakis or jeans along with an NDSU t-shirt or a non-NDSU shirt that is a “step above” a t-shirt: polos, button-down, etc.
Remember to wear weather-appropriate clothes. If you wear shorts, they must be of an appropriate style and length.
Be sure to wear comfortable, weather-appropriate shoes for the tours - No flip-flops!
