On-campus and Fargo/Moorhead Transportation
The MATBUS offers free, unlimited rides to NDSU students through proof of a valid NDSU student ID when boarding. This program is known as the U-Pass program with MATBUS.

Prospective Students and Guests
Visitors to NDSU who do not possess a valid NDSU student ID card are welcome to ride routes: 13, 31, 32, 33, 34, 36, and Tap Ride free of charge.
Visitors need to inform drivers that they are visiting the NDSU campus.
Transportation to Minneapolis or Minnesota State Colleges and Universities
Jefferson Lines buses go directly from Fargo/NDSU to Minneapolis or Minnesota State Colleges and Universities. Ticket prices are around $100.
Students receive a 15% discount on tickets with valid student ID.

Parking permits are an option for students who want to bring a car to campus. They run $185 from August to August. You will be assigned a parking lot relatively close to your residence hall. Commuters are assigned to the T-Lot.
Students who commute can purchase reduced-price passes and park in a lot at the FargoDome. Many use the MatBus to get down to the main campus.
Pay lots are available around campus, but not as economical as the parking pass.
Not all students bring a car to campus, and that’s ok.
