NDSU offers a variety of club sports supported by the Congress of Student Organizations (CSO). Club sports are a great way to stay active and competitive while providing an opportunity to meet new people on campus with similar interests. Club sports offer a competitive, team like atmosphere that allows each team to travel and compete with opposing institutions in matches and tournaments. Club sports are more competitive and organized than intramural sports but do not demand the level of commitment or time that a varsity sport would. Club sports are open to every NDSU undergraduate and graduate student. Each club is funded through student activities fees, which are included in tuition fees and allotted to student organizations by CSO.

The Fraternity and Sorority community strives to hold its members to high academic, social, and ethical standards. While providing amazing opportunities for leadership development, academic achievement, serving the local community, and professional networking.
Joining a fraternity (men's organization) or sorority (women's organization) at NDSU means becoming part of something bigger than yourself. A fraternity or sorority is a group of people with similar goals, interests, and values that all make a lifetime commitment to an organization.
Each organization was founded on values like mutual support, community service, scholarship, life-long friendships, and personal development. During college, members grow and make the organization better while gaining valuable leadership and teamwork skills through planning events and holding chapter offices. Their shared experiences build friendships that last a lifetime. Joining a fraternity or sorority is a great way to make new friends, build personal and professional connections, get involved on campus, and make a difference in your community!

The Office of Student Engagement creates educationally purposeful experiences for students that promote leadership, involvement, and success. Through partnerships, programs, and activities students receive intentional training and skill development to prepare them for the real world. The intention is to offer students a framework for making strategic decisions in an effective and efficient manner. Leadership programming includes:
Leadership on the Go
Summer Leadership Institute (SLI)
Bison Leadership Institute (BLI)
Bison Growth Opportunity Leadership Development (Bison GOLD)
Residence Hall Association (RHA) is the voice of NDSU’s on-campus students. They promote living, learning, and leading, as well as many on-campus activities throughout the year.
RHA is the governing body for all the residence halls and is composed of two reps from each hall. RHA hosts events, hears concerns brought forth by the residents, and works with the Department of Residence Life to address students’ needs in the halls.
The purpose of hall government is to create connections and provide opportunities for the student voice. Each hall is governed by a legislative body (Hall Government) consisting of executive officers, community representatives and all residents of the hall. They all meet on a regular basis and serve a variety of functions, including setting a budget for the hall funds, purchasing equipment for the hall, discussing and offering solutions to problems occurring within the halls, and planning and implementing hall events. All resident hall students are encouraged to participate in Hall Government.
National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH) focuses on community service and recognizing individuals who make a difference on-campus. NRHH is also a great way to meet people and grow as a leader. Any student in the residence halls and apartments can be part of NRHH.
Both Army and Air Force ROTC offices are located in the Benson Bunker Fieldhouse.
They offer multiple classes designed to develop our next generation of leaders.
Unless on scholarship, there is absolutely no obligation until your Junior year.
There are numerous scholarship opportunities available for qualified individuals, which will typically cover all your tuition and fees.
Student Government is composed of the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial branches. We work within and between these areas to accurately represent and earnestly advocate for the diverse student body of NDSU. By allocating the Student Activity Fee, providing programs for students, engaging with state officials, and passing legislation that students deem necessary, we constantly work toward leaving the university better than when we arrived.
The NDSU Volunteer Network (VN) helps students, faculty, and staff find service opportunities in the Fargo-Moorhead and surrounding communities. Our student staff works closely with nonprofit agencies to identify individual and group service opportunities that not only meet the needs of the community, but match student interests and skills. The VN also coordinates special programs and events throughout the school year to address community needs, engage NDSU students in service, and educate about social justice issues. The VN recognizes and understands the civic and social challenges of our local and global communities.
What We Do:
Help individuals and groups find service opportunities
Connect local non-profits to volunteers with similar interests
Plan events and programs related to service
Encourage students to log service hours for the Bison Service Challenge
