Welcome to the team! We're happy that you've decided to join a group of dedicated individuals. Bison Guides are more than just tour guides. Your job is to help prospective students see themselves on campus by sharing your experiences, connecting with them, and providing the best possible campus visit experience to students and their guests.
Over 7,000 prospective students visit NDSU each year, and most interact with a Bison Guide in some way throughout their visit. A huge part of why the student is visiting is to determine if it is the right fit/feel for them. You have the opportunity to provide students with your perspective and experiences. You chose to attend NDSU, and our visitors are trying to learn from you why they should attend too.
The Office of Admission seeks to make personal connections with as many prospective students and visitors as possible. As a Bison Guide, you will be interacting with visitors every time you give a tour. Building relationships with our guests, no matter how brief, fosters a memorable and influential campus visit, helping our prospective students feel valued by NDSU as a whole.
Bison Guides gain first-hand experience that will help them in their future lives and careers. On any given tour, you will need to talk to a group for more than an hour, quickly develop a relationship with people you've never met before, and quickly problem-solve based on questions asked, environmental factors, and the needs of your group, all while providing the best experience for your guests.
