Share Your Positive Personal Experiences
Where did you live? Favorite memories of living on campus? Best things about your hall? Fun things you did in the hall.
Roommates
Students can use My College Roomie to match up with a roommate. It’s like, match.com, but for a college roomie.
More than half of our students live with someone they didn’t know previously.
Roommate success plans are developed in the fall with each set of roommates, and guided by the RA. This provides an opportunity for students talk about areas within their living space where conflicts may arise. Topics include things like, guests, study/quiet time, sleeping, cleaning expectations, and sharing.
Hall Culture
Every hall is the best hall!
What do students do for fun in halls? SO MANY hall socials and events. Bingo, movie nights, game nights, floor hangouts. It’s so easy to meet people and make friends.
Overall message to portray: Every hall is the best hall. NDSU Res Life puts on a million events. We do so much to help connect you to campus and make friends. We offer a ton of support to find a great roommate and have a great time living together.
All halls offer: furnished rooms, printing stations, mail, coinless laundry, cleaning supplies, recreation and media rooms, study lounges, community kitchen (with pots/pans/etc. to check out), vending machines, Wi-Fi, hall office with games/videos/entertainment options and secure keyless-card entrances. We offer free video streaming services.
Security
24-hour visitation policy, guests must be escorted by a resident at all times.
Doors are locked at all times, students need an NDSU Card to gain access to your residence hall. Security cameras at all entrances.
Staff
Hall Staff: Each hall has on-site staff—a full time Hall Director, plus student Resident Assistants. RAs help you make friends, learn about campus, and find resources. HDs are live-in professionals provide leadership and are a resource within the hall.
Custodians: Custodians keep our buildings very clean. Bathrooms are cleaned daily in the low-rises and every other week in the high rises.
