Notre Dame shares its future with South Bend and the surrounding region. An essential part of a thriving community is a culture that values "placemaking as a vocation," which in turn strengthens the university’s ability to attract and retain top talent.
With the generous support of the Cavanaugh Council and President’s Circle, Notre Dame is building bridges as a true partner with the city of South Bend. This is exemplified by the launch of the Downtown South Bend Tech and Talent District, beginning with Colfax Corner. This initiative is a deliberate effort to deepen engagement through research, industry, and student integration, serving as a catalyst for economic vitality.
Inspired by its mission to live out a commitment to the common good and grounded in the principles of collaborative investing, Notre Dame aims to continue partnering with the region to improve the lives of residents through economic, social, and holistic development.
