Technology skills should be embedded within the learning outcomes and activities of all content areas and should not be taught separately. The use of technology should augment learning in those areas as a means of instruction and as a method to demonstrate student learning. Students should learn to recognize when technology can help their learning and problem solving.
Integration and mastery of technology skills at your grade level establish foundational skills for the acquisition and mastery of technology skills at the next grade level. Ultimately, the skills acquired at each grade level will prepare students to fully utilize technology by becoming empowered learners, responsible digital citizens, content creators, problem solvers, creative communicators and global collaborators.
