iPad App Request Procedures
Submit an App Request for any paid apps you would like installed on your iPad or student IPads. (forms below). You can fill it out, get approval from your administrator and email it back to tech coordinator, print and fax or send in district mail.
If you would like to try the app just for your iPad before you decide if you want it for all your iPads or if you are trying it out for a grade level, you will still submit the App Request. We will only deploy it to your device. If you decide that the app is worthy of purchase, then submit another request for the other devices you would like it installed on. (we need this for accounting purposes)
The price of the app/apps will be credited to your site voucher. Kim Mendonca will keep these.
When looking at apps, please be aware that bundle prices cannot be used to purchase with the voucher. We can purchase them with the voucher but we will be charged for the full price of the individual apps included in the bundle.
Look for apps that will allow full use of the app with a one-time purchase fee, no **in-app purchase required. Sometimes the developer has provided both the free version and the paid version so you should request the paid app for installation. In-app purchases cannot be deployed or purchased by Datapath with the voucher. (see 3 below)
Work with your grade level in exploring apps and share across sites at grade-level meetings. If a site grade-level or district grade level has agreed on an app, we can approve and deploy an app on one request. Some educational apps are available for the Volume Purchase Program when quantities of 20 or more are purchased at the same time, 50% discount.
Once approved, I will submit a Datapath ticket to let Edward know to install the app on your device/devices.

It is important that you look out for the installation on your iPad on Friday so that you accept the app. If you or your students cancel it when he deploys it, he will have to go back in and re-do it.
**For in-app purchases, you will still submit an App Request but the payment of these will be handled differently. Datapath cannot deploy in-app purchases and the voucher cannot be used to purchase these. You will need to work with your principal and school secretary to have an open PO to reimburse you because these need to be paid with your own credit card on the device. You will submit your receipt to your secretary for reimbursement.
We are working on making this process as efficient as possible and getting the apps to your device as soon as possible. We are required to keep track of how the voucher money is spent so this process and paperwork is necessary.
