that the New Quizzes option has been turned on and is available for your courses. You will need to go to the Settings for your Course and in the Feature Options, slide the New Quizzes On if you want to use it. When you choose to create a new Quiz, you will be given the choice to create a Classic Quiz or a New Quiz.
Three question types that are found on New Quizzes that weren't available on the old quiz version are the following: hotspot, ordering, and stimulus (similar to end of the year questions). The HotSpot feature allows teachers to upload images and have students identify a specific area in that image. You can take a look at the differences between the two in the comparison chart below.
The following are user groups and resources you might find useful:
Events & Assignments:
A Canvas event is a non-graded Canvas activity. Events you create on the Calendar will not appear on the Assignments page or in the Gradebook but they will show up on the Syllabus page and student calendars. You can create events with due date times as well as all-day events.
Tip: add an event in the calendar on the date you want them to start working on anassignment. When you create the assignment with a due date, it will automatically show up on the calendar on the due date.
I have added the Google Assignments external tool. Why use it?
By using the Assignments external tool, you can give each one of your students a copy of the document, whether it’s a Doc or a Slide. Now they have their own copy to write on. When each of your students open their copy, all their documents get put in one folder in your Google Drive. Now you have the ability to see their documents in real time, while they are working on it. You are able to go to each of their documents and give them feedback as they work.
If you have a Google Slides presentation with information, give your students a copy with slides where they have to interact by responding. Students can respond on their own copy while you are presenting.
The alternative to using Google Assignments in Canvas is to give your students the link to the Google document you want them to have and they each use the Make A Copy features to get their own copy. Then they turn it in individually. This option will not give you access to their document unless they share with you, which can become very confusing.
