Math Facts - basic addition and subtraction 

Please practice these at home. As of October, we use these math facts to do more difficult problems. The following basic addition and subtraction facts are expected to be automatic (answered accurately in less than 3 seconds). This will support success in 1st grade Singapore Math.

Note: If your child is having trouble with the above, please use the resources below.

Show a card to your child and have them tell you the number of dots. Then ask how many more dots are needed to make ( a number higher than what is shown - up to ten)  Example: Show your child the card with 2 dots and have him tell you the number. Then, ask your child to tell you how many more dots are needed to make 4, 5, 6, 7, etc.

Mix up the cards and have your child put them in the correct order. Have your child match the number cards with the 10-frame cards.
