Drills: Lockdown and Fire

Parents,

I want to let you know that we will have regular (approximately monthly class lockdown / fire drills) as a class. This is in addition to the occasional school-wide drill. This is so that students know what to do and are not scared by the school-wide drills. I regret that we have to do lockdown drills, but this is unfortunately something that is required by school districts, Your child's safety is our top priority. Please know that we do these to help ease students' potential anxiety and for them to know we are here to keep them safe. Do email me with any questions / concerns.

We had a class lockdown practice drill on 1/9. Students did a great job sitting on the carpet and holding their bubbles. 

1/29 We had a class lockdown practice drill while we were in the hallway by the bathrooms. Students practiced going into the closest open classroom and following teacher directions with voices off. Nice job going into the 4th grade classroom, sitting on the carpet until it was time to go back to our classroom:)
