Week 4: 9/21-9/24

Note: There are no classes on 9/25 as it is a staff work day only.

Math: Addition within 10: word problems / number bonds

• Students will be expected to know their addition facts within 10. Please practice at home with flashcards and verbal oral problems. See the Math page for resources.

Literacy:  Pre-handwriting skills

• Correct letter formation of capital letters

• phionograms: [ow][ou] [ar] [oo] [ck[ [oe] [ay] [ai] [ea] [ie] [aw] [au] [ed] [ch] and all the sounds they can make in words

Literature : Read alouds to include:

• Jack and the Beanstalk

• Pied Piper

• Lion, Witch and Wardrobe

• Practice poems: Marching Song, Try Try Again, Solomon Grundy, Rope Rhyme, 

History / Geography

• Continue reading about the 7 continents.

Science: 

• Finish up unit on Sun, Moon & Stars
