Meet Your Counselor

Hello Everyone!

My name is Mr. Lockwood and this will be my first year at Nashua-Plainfield Elementary. I graduate from the University of Northern Iowa and look forward to being your school counselor. Nashua-Plainfield's Elementary School Counselor Believes:

Every student can learn and succeed
Every student should have access to and opportunity for a high-quality education
Every graduate from Nashua-Plainfield should be ready for post-secondary opportunities
Every student should have access to the school counseling program
Effective school counseling is a collaborative effort involving bring together stakeholders in students' education
School counselors should be leaders within their school, district, state, and nation
School counseling programs should enhance and promote students' academic, social/emotional, and career success.

Vision Statement

Every student is provided the resources and skills necessary in order to succeed in an ever-changing world. Students are able to showcase their leadership and critical thinking skills in order to overcome obstacles and take advantage of opportunities in achieving their own unique goals they set for themselves.

Mission Statement

"Nashua-Plainfield's Elementary School Counseling Program focuses on teaching students 21st-century skills utilizing a multi-tiered, multi-denominational model. The school counseling program aims to promote academic, social/emotional, and career readiness to all students for a wellness-oriented, holistic development of their growth."
