Agency for Persons with Disabilities

The Agency for Persons with Disabilities Supports Persons with Developmental Disabilities in Living, Learning, and Working in their Communities. APD works in partnership with local communities and private providers to assist people who have developmental disabilities and their families. APD provides assistance in identifying the needs of people with developmental disabilities for supports and services and offers a wide range of social, medical, residential, and behavioral services. Services provided are based on need and coverage criteria, so not all individuals receive all services. The agency serves more than 50,000 Floridians with the following disabilities:

​· People severely impaired by autism

· Cerebral palsy

· Spina bifida

· Intellectual disabilities

· Down syndrome

· Prader-Willi syndrome

· Phelan-McDermid syndrome

· Children age 3-5 who are at a high risk of a developmental disability

Arts4All

The mission of Arts4All Florida is to provide, support and champion arts education and cultural experiences for and by people with disabilities. Our vision is to create a world in which the arts are universally accessible.

​We do this by:

Conducting art education programs in schools, Department of Juvenile Justice facilities, and community centers.

Benefits Planning, Inc.

We provide counseling to those already receiving Social Security, which involves letting clients know how much work they can do before benefits are affected. We can also assist with the age 18 re-determination process, and answer questions on how to apply for benefits at any age.

Best Buddies

Best Buddies International is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to establishing a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment, leadership development, and inclusive living for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).

Bright Feats Directory

Bright Feats helps families with individuals with special needs. We help parents and individuals locate medical, educational and community resources. We partner with local public schools to make our directory publication available to students. With our VIPworks program we hire interns and employees to manage our database, design graphics for our publications, manage our website and make social posts for community providers. Center For Independent Living

Center for Independent Living in Central Florida, Inc (CIL), in partnership with the community, promotes inclusion of people with disabilities by eliminating architectural, communication and attitudinal barriers. CIL provides education, resources and training to enhance self-determination through informed choice, serving 7 counties. CIL works to help people with disabilities in our community identify and meet their personal goals for independence. ​

Columbus Organization/Support Associates

Columbus Organization is a National Company providing Care Coordination and supports to people with developmental Disabilities in 6 other states as well as Florida. We provide Support Coordination, under the ibudget Home and Community Based Waiver. We believe individuals with developmental disabilities should be valued and given the same opportunities to reach their potential as those without disabilities. Other services: Training, Community Presentation and Education, State Wide WSC training

Conductive Education Center of Orlando

Conductive Education Center of Orlando (CECO) offers a unique teaching method which focuses on the development of cognitive, physical and social skills, for those of all ages with motor disabilities such as Cerebral Palsy, in order to gain greater independence and a better quality of life.

Easterseals Florida-Camp Challenge

Camp Challenge is a 61 acre fully accessible camp for children as young as 6 to all the way into adulthood. Camp challenge is equipped with air conditioned cabins, restrooms and showers in each cabin, and a laundry facility. We are a fully accessible facility that include, a swimming pool, basketball court & soccer field, campfire circle, outdoor pavilion, paved nature trails, animal farm, air soft target range and a universal high and low ropes course complete with wall climbing and zipline.

EmployU, Inc

employU provides career exploration services to school age youth between the ages of 14-21 that have an IEP or 504 Plan. All participants must be registered with Vocational Rehabilitation in order to be referred for services.

Students are able to choose the services that make the most sense for them in support of career exploration activities. Services include:

Vocational Evaluations: work with a professional to match up careers based on your interests and aptitudes.

Work Readiness Training: take part in a 20 hour class to help create a resume, a professional email address and voice mail, and learn how to navigate public transportation, search for jobs, and participate in mock interviews.

Self Advocacy Training- a 20 hour class to help improve communication and problem solving skills.

Work-based Learning Experience- let us match you up with a 4-8 week work experience to gain valuable hands on skills at one of our many host-employers. These are paid work experiences!

Family Network on Disabilities

Family Network on Disabilities (FND) is an grassroots organization for persons ages birth through 26, who have the full range of disabilities, who may be at-risk, or have special needs and their families, professionals, and concerned citizens. The mission of FND is to strive for the complete integration and equality of persons with disabilities in a society without barriers.

The Florida Institute for Community Inclusion

The Florida Institute for Community Inclusion is a nonprofit organization offering transition services for youth with disabilities. Services include summer program, postsecondary education and training, job readiness, employment placement, on the job training, and supported employment. Our vision is to ensure youth with disabilities find purpose, pursue their passions and experience acceptance and inclusion within their community. ​

Gliding Stars of Central Florida

The Gliding Stars organization provides individuals with disabilities the opportunity to increase their personal potential through development of ice skating skills in a regular program of instruction and practice in their own local community, culminating in the demonstration of those skills publicly in an end-of-season on-ice choreographed performance. G.R.O.W. Central Florida, Inc.

GROW stands for: Grass Roots Outreach Within Our goal is to help develop the healthiest children in Central Florida by supporting grass roots wellness initiatives.

Mission: To make a positive difference in children's lives by increasing opportunities for healthy living. Objective:

•To promote environments that support children's health and well-being

•To optimize and empower volunteers who support initiatives that increase physical activity and or focus on preventing childhood obesity

Priority Areas: Seminole County

•Supporting the Seminole County Public School elementary cross county program

​•Providing resources for programs that increase opportunities for physical activity and healthy living History: The efforts behind GROW Central Florida, Inc. started in 2009 by parent volunteer Colleen Gonzalez. Over seven years she worked to support elementary school volunteers throughout Seminole County with the non-district funded cross country running program. The free running program serves over 4,600 students (age 5-12). Although the program runs 100% on donations, one hurdle that always came up was Colleen and the cross country program did not have a 501(c)3 nonprofit designation. In 2015, Colleen decided to set up a non-profit to formally support the grass roots volunteers in Seminole County.

Hands On Hospitality Training Program

The Hands On Hospitality Program was established in 1998 to provide realistic job training for people with disabilities. Hands On partners exclusively with Hyatt Hotels and we have the capacity to train our students in almost any area of the industry.

Inclusive Education Services at UCF

Inclusive Education Services (IES) at the University of Central Florida offers students with intellectual disabilities an inclusive, comprehensive non-degree seeking academic experience. Students will earn a credential for completing the course of study through the Division of Continuing Education with the support of the College of Innovation and Education.

Inspire of Central Florida

Inspire offers like skills and vocational training, to include classes such as problem solving, money management, communication, and safety skills . Through individualized support plans, Inspire's CFS learn the necessary skills to prepare them for competitive employment in the community. They earn paycheck , develop work and social skills and strive to reach their full potential. ​

Keiser University

Keiser University is a regionally accredited, private university that provides educational programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels for a diverse student body in traditional, nontraditional and online delivery formats. Lighthouse Central Florida

Lighthouse Central Florida provides an optimal blend of proven rehabilitation training and real world application to help individuals of all ages, who live with any degree of vision loss, adjust to their reality with grace and confidence so that they can remain active, productive members of our community. Transition program is available to students 14 to 22 years old with an IEP geared towards vocational training and social experiences for the students.​

New Hope for Kids

New Hope for Kids provides specialized support to children and families grieving the loss of a loved one and grants wishes to children with life-challenging illnesses in Central Florida.

New Horizons Service Dogs

Our highly-trained service dogs allow clients to continue living a productive and satisfying life by enabling them to function independently. Our mission is to provide quality, trained service dogs to people with disabilities, educate the public and raise awareness regarding the needs and concerns of people with disabilities, and provide ongoing support to the recipient to assure a successful working partnership.

Project 10

Project 10: Transition Education Network (Project 10) is a state discretionary resource project supported by the Florida Department of Education and the Bureau of Exceptional Education and Student Services. Project 10 provides information, resources, technical assistance and training relevant to educators, school districts, families and relevant stakeholders to support positive outcomes and growth for secondary-age transition age youth.

Quest Inc.

Quest offers a wide range of services and supports for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Our company can be a valuable resource by providing a safe place to call home, quality long term care, education, therapy and early intervention services for children, employment for youth and adults and a camp for retreat and respite.

SCPS ePathways

Seminole County Public Schools (SCPS) created ePathways as a symbol of its commitment that high school graduates will leave our district with meaningful diplomas and a clear pathway to high-demand, high-wage employment. SCPS graduates will have both a broad understanding of careers and enough exploration of specific interests to have a clear plan for their future.

SCPS Families in Need (FIN)

SCPS Families in Need (FIN) is an ESSS Student Support Services program serving our school district's most vulnerable student populations. FIN program services take a proactive approach to reducing educational barriers that stand in the way of academic success for students and families who are homeless or economically disadvantaged and our students placed in the foster care system.

Representatives from Seminole State College of Florida will be at the fair to give information about their admissions process and procedures.

Seminole State College of Florida - Adult Education

Adult Education at Seminole State College helps to prepare adults for college and the world of work with practical instruction and plenty of guidance from staff and faculty. We offer the Adult High School and GED Prep programs for students looking to earn their high school diploma. We also have English Language Studies programs to help students improve their level of English.

Seminole State College of Florida - Disability Support Services

The Office of Disability Support Services (DSS) at Seminole State offers,College constituents equity and excellence in education. By working with students, faculty and staff on all Seminole State campuses, DSS ensures that appropriate academic adjustments are made to give all students equal opportunities inside the classroom and around campus. In order to receive services, students must provide appropriate documentation of a disability.

Special Needs Ability Program, Inc.

Special Needs Ability Program, Inc. (SNAP) provides support and advocacy to individuals with developmental disabilities of all ages, and their families. SNAP host the largest Special Needs Support Group in Central Florida in Historic Downtown Sanford bi-weekly as well as Arbor School in Winter Springs. EDUCATE * ENCOURAGE * EMPLOY

Career Exploration: We evaluate and learn about interests, skills and aptitude to help determine a career path.

Training Programs: Learn job seeking skills and how to advocate for yourself in a hands-on classroom setting.

Employment Services/OJT: Our Employment specialists work one-one to help uncover leads, assist with interview skills, provide on-site training to help secure a job in the community. PAID short term work place training is also offered.

UCF Center for Autism and Related Disabilities

The UCF-Center for Autism and Related Disabilities (CARD) ucf-card.org, (407) 823-6001, focuses on providing support to children and adults in early intervention, school, community, work, and home settings. We address issues that impact individuals across the life span. Our services are consultative in nature.

Through PALS, Summer Employment Training programs are provided for MS and HS students and CARD is now an approved State Vendor through Vocational Rehabilitation for our clients seeking employment.
