Cromer's Counseling Corner
Welcome!
The School Counseling Department at Heathrow Elementary School is dedicated to establishing a safe and inclusive environment by recognizing the needs and appreciating the value of all individuals. We will collaborate with students and their families, the Seminole County School District community and other outside community agencies to encourage each student to reach his or her unique potential and assist him or her to become responsible citizens and life-long learners.
This website will provide you with information regarding the elementary school counseling program at Heathrow Elementary School, upcoming activities and events, and counseling topics and resources.
I will continue adding new resources to this site and updating as often as possible. If there is a question that you have or something you would like a resource on to better assist in the growth and development of your child, please feel free to contact me. The best way to contact me at this time is through email.
I look forward to serving our community here at Heathrow Elementary School!

Dear SCPS Families and Staff,
Based on the information from the Seminole County Emergency Management Department, our community continues to see an increase in the positivity rate for COVID-19 cases, which are fueled by the Delta variant. In collaboration with Seminole UniServ, which includes Seminole Education Association, Inc. (SEA), Seminole Educational Clerical Association, Inc. (SECA), Seminole County School Bus Drivers Association, Inc. (SCSBDA) and the Non-Instructional Personnel of Seminole County School Board, Inc. (NIPSCO), it is imperative that we take mitigating precautions in the interest of student and employee health and safety.
Therefore, until further notice, these procedures will be implemented as follows:
• Employee Face Coverings: Effective Friday, August 6th, all employees will be required to wear a protective face covering while indoors on property owned, leased or operated by the District, including riding in buses and other approved transportation provided by the District. Employees must comply with face covering requirements for the health and safety of themselves, their colleagues, students, and others. Procedures will be developed to reasonably implement the face covering requirement including, but not limited to designating types of face coverings.
• Vendors & Contractors Face Coverings: Effective Friday, August 6th, all vendors and contractors will be required to wear a face covering while indoors on property owned, leased or operated by the District, including riding buses and other approved transportation provided by the District. Procedures will be developed to reasonably implement the face covering requirement including, but not limited to designating types of face coverings.
• Campus Visitors: Effective Tuesday, August 10th through Tuesday, August 24th, visitors will temporarily not be allowed on any Seminole County Public School campus during standard operating school hours. As the circumstances around the COVID-19 Delta variant fluctuate, at the end of the two-week period this procedure will be reassessed to determine next steps as we continue to monitor and navigate the situation.
We are excited to welcome students to campuses on Tuesday, August 10th and look forward to serving our families. We encourage parents to consider the use of face coverings for their students. For parents who wish for their student to wear a mask but are unable to provide one, schools will have a supply of masks available. Thank you for your support and cooperation as we navigate this fluid situation together.
Respectfully,
Serita D. Beamon
Superintendent
