Build Content in Your Sandbox Course
First, create your resources: pages, assignments, quizzes, etc.
Second, assemble the resources into modules.

Next, create your course home page.

You can do this step at any time. For the rest of the steps, you need to wait until your school creates and rosters your courses in Aeries.

Set up your Aeries Gradebooks following the instructions on this page.
If you plan to do all or most of your grading in Canvas, you should make sure that (a) you create your gradebooks for all terms (Fall and Spring, or Tri 1/2/3) at once, and (b) you should not link your gradebooks. These are different recommendations than we have made in past years, but will help your grades sync reliably and easily.
