In class = Students will be welcomed to the new school year and introduced to Islamic Studies. They will discuss the importance of learning about Allah ﷻ, the Qur’an, and good Islamic character and manners. Students will learn how Islamic Studies can help them understand their faith and apply Islamic teachings in their daily lives.
Students will also review and discuss classroom rules, expectations, respectful behaviour, participation, and organization. They will have an opportunity to ask questions and share what they already know about Islam.
Students should bring an Islamic Studies textbook, workbook , and a notebook specifically for Islamic Studies.

Week 2 (Sep 7- Sep 11)
Monday
No school – Labour Day
Tuesday
In class =Students will begin Unit 1, Chapter 1: Prophet Ibrahim and His Sons, Ismail and Ishaq. They will learn about the story of Prophet Ibrahim عليه السلام, his family, and his sons Prophet Ismail عليه السلام and Prophet Ishaq عليه السلام. Students will discuss important lessons from the story, including obedience to Allah ﷻ.
Students will also learn about Sarah and Haajar and their roles in the story.
Week 3 (Sep 14- Sep 18)
Monday
In class = Students will continue learning about Prophet Ibrahim عليه السلام and his sons, Prophet Ismail and Prophet Ishaq عليهما السلام. They will review the stories and discuss important lessons from their lives. Students will review the importance of obedience to Allah ﷻ and identify lessons that can be applied to their own lives.
Tuesday
In class = Students will complete exercises and activities based on the chapter to reinforce their understanding of the stories of Prophet Ibrahim, Ismail, and Ishaq عليهما السلام, as well as Sarah and Haajar.
