Supervisor Toolkit
Supervisor's are essential in providing new hires a great first experience. Through working groups across functional teams and schools we've put together resources to help you successfully onboard your new TeamIPS staff.
All new hires will receive a survey after their first week and at the 30-, 60-, 90 days that will need to be completed upon receipt. These surveys will help to inform future decisions in the onboarding process while also highlighting your hardwork in onboarding.
This checklist should be utilized while onboarding your new hire in a central service or classified role. You and your new hire will work together to complete the tasks within this document and other associated materials. Please also provide each new team member with this Onboarding Checklist as they navigate their new role within the district.
All roles included in the CADM group will receive a Central Service Mentor. Based on conversations with supervisors, some CLSE staff will receive a Central Service Mentor. The IPS Central Service Mentoring Program will encompass the first 6 months of the new hire's employment.
Mentoring is a structured and trusting relationship that brings new hires together with individuals who offer guidance, support and encouragement aimed at developing the competence of the mentee as they navigate their new position with IPS. Mentoring supports the 4th tenet in our onboarding process.
Providing a mentor to a new hire is a powerful way to create an environment where they feel comfortable sharing ideas and taking risks. This, in turn, increases outcomes and overall achievement.
This resource is available to provide resources and use as a checklist while onboarding all new hires in a school building. There is a team that will work together to ensure the completion of tasks below for a successful onboarding process of all new hires in IPS.

To monitor the successful completion of onboarding, all new hires receive a survey after their first week and at the 30-, 60-, 90-day that will need to be completed upon receipt. This process is automatically delivered to their email inbox when each survey is required.
Staff hired for the beginning of the year have the opportunity to take part in our multi day Induction event. You can learn more about this event here.
