Welcome to my teaching portfolio and resource hub! I’m Jovel Morbos Capitle, an English and SDG educator with experience teaching both in the Philippines and Taiwan. I specialize in creating engaging, student-centered lessons that help young learners build confidence in speaking, reading, and understanding English. With a background in theater arts and a passion for storytelling, I incorporate creative approaches into my teaching to make learning fun, meaningful, and interactive.
A core part of my teaching philosophy is integrating the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into everyday lessons. I believe in nurturing not just academic skills, but also global awareness and responsibility among students. Through stories, shadow plays, crafts, and classroom projects, I help learners connect real-world issues to their own experiences—empowering them to think critically, act kindly, and become young changemakers in their communities.
I always try to connect lessons to real life. If students see how it matters to them, they care more and learn better. Whether it’s SDGs, stories, or daily conversation, I want it to feel meaningful.
I believe every student has something to say—even the shy ones. I create a space where they feel safe to speak up, try, and even make mistakes. That’s how confidence and language grow.
Guess what? Our school got 1st runner up in the Reader’s Theater Contest and it was so awesome! The theme was “Looking at the World Through Changhua County” and our students really gave it their all. They used their voices, energy, and teamwork to make the story come alive. It was so cool seeing them shine on stage. Huge thanks to everyone, teachers, students, and parents for all the love and support!
