Democratic View

"Confront Global Threats." -Democratic Party Platform

Democrats claim that to protect our country, we must strengthen our homeland security, deal carefully with those who seek to endanger America or our partners/allies, deter aggression, and promote peace. They claim that they will use all the tools of American power, especially diplomacy and development, to confront global threats and ensure war is the last resort. They stand against Trump and his actions to decrease engagement and intervention in the Middle East and Iraq.

Republican View

"Keeping America safe and strong requires a strong military, growing the economy, energy independence, and secure borders." -GOP

Republicans claim that in order to keep the people safe, we must secure our borders, enforce our immigration laws, and properly screen refugees and other immigrants entering from any country. They believe that we must apply special inspection to those foreign nationals seeking to enter the United States from terror-sponsoring countries or from regions associated with Islamic terrorism. They stand behind President Trump and his actions withdrawing troops from the Iraq and standing firm against pressure to intervene in Syria to end their Civil War.
