Immigration
Immigration- The process by which an individual or a group of individuals leave their home country to seek permanent residence in a foreign country through legal or illegal methods.
The Republican Party believes that immigration reforms and immigration laws should be made to address national security. They are decidedly against immigrants who come to this country through illegal methods and they believe that there should be a system that ensures that they do not receive the same benefits as legal citizens. While the party as a whole believes in this they have always been divided on how strict immigration laws really should be.
The Democratic Party stands with immigrants, believing that America was founded on immigration and the principles of diversity and acceptance. Both parties agree on supporting immigration to a certain extent, but they disagree on what to do with people who enter the country illegally. Democrats are comparatively much more lenient and willing to forgive illegal immigrants even supporting amnesty and citizenship programs.
