The internet is a powerful tool that can be harnessed to support a rich and vibrant learning experience both in the classroom and beyond. However, there is potential to get distracted by the technology and lose sight of our primary learning aims. It is important, therefore, to ensure the underpinning pedagogies and learning strategy are at the forefront when considering how best to integrate the right digital technologies.
The SHU strategy, Transforming Lives, identifies that we are aiming to achieve (amongst other things) an innovative and coherent applied curriculum; an environment in which all our students are challenged, supported and encouraged to succeed; students with the skills, capabilities and knowledge to thrive after graduation.
Integral to our applied, innovative curricula is appropriate digital technologies. Technologies that not only support and enable the acquisition of course-specific knowledge, but also develop wider world-ready skills that enable graduates to excel in their careers.
