Flipped Learning

Flipping the classroom is a pedagogical model which reverses the normal pattern of content delivery in a lecture and follow up exercises are completed at home. Instead content is delivered in some way before the the class session, such as a short video lecture, and in-class time can then be devoted to exercises , projects and discussions.

Introducing key concepts

Here are a range of videos that have been used in online teaching. The first is an example of module tutors discussing a topic to help develop students' understanding. The second is an online debate that module tutors undertook to discuss different perspectives and the third is an example screencast where a module tutor provided a commentary to accompany powerpoint slides to explain a complex theory.
