Using short video clips can be an excellent way of engaging students. However, please ensure that if you are using video clips there is also subtitles/captions/transcript to ensure the audio is accessible for all students (Top Tip: By uploading the videos you create to your SHU YouTube account subtitles will be automatically generated: you will just need to scan them to check they are correct and edit accordingly - it's quick and easy!)
Videos can be used by the tutor:
You can create your own videos by using your tablet/laptop/PC and either the camera function or by using tools such as Screencastomatic. In addition, there are a number of different video-based apps available that enable the user to create a video, play it back, identify key moments, annotate and add a voice-over.....

Coach's Eye
Coach's eye is a video capture and playback app. It allows you to review videos, identify and annotate key moments. These can then be embedded or played within your presentation and discussed further. Video capture and analysis of both simulated and actual practice has been shown to significantly enhance clinical decision making and quality care.
By recording simulated practice students can review, discuss and reflect on their clinical effectiveness or how they collaborate as a team and communicate effectively with one another.
