CRUSADER CONNECTION

A MESSAGE FROM MWHS PRINCIPAL ELISA SOTO

Dear Crusaders,

We have already completed the first week of school!  Parents, I urge you to be involved in your child’s life. Their high school years will pass in the ‘blink of an eye’ and they will be graduated and out of the house. Whether it is their school activities, church activities, community sports, or scouts, find time to do things with them. They will be gone before you know it.

Just a reminder that you can track your child's academic progress via the Parent Portal. Please contact your child's teacher if you have any questions. This parent-teacher connection is vital to ensuring student success.

All students participated in a short assembly this week during their Physical Education Class. The students were briefed on expectations for the school year including the Code of Conduct, The Dignity Act, and other high school rules and regulations.

Parents and guardians, please take time to review and sign off on our Code of Conduct. Parents can access our Code of Conduct via the Parent Portal. Log in to your parent portal account, on the left navigation menu select Forms, then select Code of Conduct for Parents.Students do not have access to this form; it is not available through the student portal. Thank you.

The school year is off to a great start!

All the best,

Elisa

to our students!

Open House

Dear Monroe-Woodbury High School Community,

We invite you to attend our annual Open House on Wednesday, September 27, 2022 at 5:30 p.m. This event is offered with the expectation that you will visit your child’s classroom, meet their teachers, and have a chance to learn about expectations we have of your child, the NYS Curriculum, and our role in the educational process.

Parents/guardians will follow their student’s A Day schedule for the evening based on the following timetable:

Introduction in the auditorium:  5:30 - 6:00

Students' Class Schedules: To help you navigate this evening, please visit the Parent Portal and make a copy of your student’s schedule to bring with you. You can also have your student fill in his/her schedule on this form.

Arriving Late: If you arrive in the middle of a period, please wait in the main lobby for the next period to begin. (Periods will change with a bell and an announcement).

Lunch Periods/Study Hall: Feel free to stop by the cafeteria during your student's lunch period.

Due to the limited schedule, teachers will not have sufficient time to conference about individual student’s progress. If you are interested in discussing your student’s progress prior to parent/teacher conferences in November, please contact the appropriate staff member(s) to arrange additional communication.

We look forward to seeing you on September 27th.

Sincerely,

Elisa Soto
