Hello Crusaders,

As April blooms with opportunities, we want to encourage both students and parents to embrace the excitement of growth and achievement. Whether you're gearing up for exams, planning your next steps after graduation, or simply seeking new experiences, this season is yours for the taking.

Remember, April is not just a time of growth for flowers and trees—it's also a time for personal and academic growth. By staying focused, exploring new opportunities, and planning for the future, both students and parents can make the most of this vibrant season.

Wishing you all a successful and fulfilling April!

All the best,

VARSITY ATHLETES HONOR TEACHERS

This year, the M-W baseball program began a new tradition. Seniors commenced their 2024 varsity baseball season by presenting Crusaders Baseball keepsakes to educators who had the most impact on them during their time at Monroe-Woodbury High School. The teachers were incredibly grateful and it was an excellent opportunity to instill the value of giving and gratitude to our athletes.

Extending sincere gratitude from our students to the following dedicated educators:

Ms. Abrahams - Sal Colello.      Mr. Ashley - Brody Allyn
Ms. Blatt - David Fennessy.       Mr. Hahn - Kyle McDermott
Ms. Jeffrey - JJ Kelleher            Ms. Kostelnick - Michael Balducci
Ms. Zomback - AJ Lugo

M-W NAMED ONE OF THE "best communitIES for music education" 13 years IN A ROW

For the 13th consecutive year, Monroe-Woodbury Central School District has been honored with the Best Communities for Music Education designation from The NAMM Foundation for its outstanding commitment to music education. Now in its 25th year, the designation is awarded to school districts that demonstrate outstanding achievement by providing music access and education to all students.

To qualify for the Best Communities designation, M-W answered detailed questions about funding, graduation requirements, music class participation, instruction time, facilities, and support for the music program and community music-making programs.

Hats off to our dedicated educators and their amazing students. Bravo!

BRING LUNCH FROM HOME?
free sides available

For those M-W students who prefer to bring their lunches from home, the district is excited to offer FREE sides to accompany their homemade meals. Items such as milk, fruit, vegetables and more are available. Students must choose three or more of the offered items to receive them at no cost.

This offering is made possible by the designation granted to the District by the New York State Education Department’s Child Nutrition Program (CEP). The CEP is a funding option under the National School Lunch Act that allows eligible schools to provide free meals to all students.

With the Community Eligibility Provision designation, all children in Monroe-Woodbury Central School District schools attending in person can receive one breakfast and one lunch per school day at no cost, eliminating out-of-pocket expenses for families and ensuring that all students receive two nutritious meals per day.
