High tea in honor of the top 25 students
Friends, family and faculty gathered on May 2 to recognize the Top 25 students in the Class of 2024 with a beautiful High Tea.
Many of our students and faculty members worked hard to help create a memorable event for the students and their families. Mrs. Kostalnik's culinary students outdid themselves by creating the menu, preparing the food and serving guests during the event. Amazing! Special thanks to our jazz band and orchestra student musicians for providing beautiful background music during the event. Bravo! And a shout out to our art students for creating the exquisite backdrops and table decorations that added the perfect touch to the celebration. Brilliant!
Best wishes to our Top 25!
On Thursday April 25th the Math Honor Society held their induction Induction. 33 new members were inducted which included 10 Seniors and 23 Juniors. These seniors along with 10 seniors who were inducted prior to 2024 received their Honor Cords.

Budget Vote - Tues. May 21
The annual school budget vote will take place on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. This year’s proposed budget, which was unanimously adopted by the Monroe-Woodbury Board of Education on April 18, 2024, focuses resources on safety and security in our schools, maintaining programs that meet the needs of our students, and providing resources and professional development for staff that align with New York State Standards. For more information, please visit the District website.
A Public Budget Hearing will be held on Wednesday, May 8, at the Education Center in Central Valley. Members of the M-W community are invited to comment on the recommended budget at that meeting.
A budget-related Crusader Chat will be recorded and released to the community on Wednesday, May 15. Community members are encouraged to share budget-related questions they would like answered during the Chat by completing the online budget-related question submission form. Please submit questions by May 7. If only a few questions are submitted via the online form, District leaders will address the questions during the Public Hearing on May 8, in lieu of a Crusader Chat.

BRING LUNCH FROM HOME?
free sides available
free sides available
For those M-W students who prefer to bring their lunches from home, the district is excited to offer FREE sides to accompany their homemade meals. Items such as milk, fruit, vegetables and more are available. Students must choose three or more of the offered items to receive them at no cost.
This offering is made possible by the designation granted to the District by the New York State Education Department’s Child Nutrition Program (CEP). The CEP is a funding option under the National School Lunch Act that allows eligible schools to provide free meals to all students.
With the Community Eligibility Provision designation, all children in Monroe-Woodbury Central School District schools attending in person can receive one breakfast and one lunch per school day at no cost, eliminating out-of-pocket expenses for families and ensuring that all students receive two nutritious meals per day.
