Band/PE is designed for those students who are in Band and need to meet the district two-year PE requirement. This course may be repeated for credit.

Band is the "Soundtrack of the High School Experience". Band serves as the ceremonial performing group for campus activities. Musical and marching activities are stressed. Study of band literature and opportunities to respond to and critique band performances are provided.

Enrollment in this class is limited to students who have been selected as letter majorettes and flag carriers. Participants will use this class time to perfect their routines and marching skills.

Participation in Choir includes the study of choral literature, note reading, and vocal techniques. Some section rehearsals, public performances, and overnight trips may be required. An understanding of choral literature and opportunities to view and critique choral performances are important components of the class.

The course is designed to develop a student's ability to recognize and understand basic materials and processes in any music that is heard or read in score.
