Jazz Ensemble

The Jazz Ensemble consists of members of all our concert ensembles who are interested in playing different jazz repertoire. As in the name, the ensemble performs jazz music, a genre known for its emphasis on improvisation, swing rhythms, and expressive interpretation. The Jazz ensemble performances include our fundraisers, concerts, and on a few occasions, at basketball games. Members have the ability to experiment with playing different instruments beyond their primary instrument. Placement into the group is determined by audition, which occurs during October.
