Professional profile: Professor and researcher in the Faculty of Educational Sciences at the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya (UIC), where she gives lessons at the Master of Secondary Education. Previously, she served as Vice-Dean (2008-2013) and Chair of the Educational Management and Leadership Speciality, where she was the Director of the Postgraduate Course in Educational Leadership and Management (PLD). She also served as the Vice Rectorate for Academic Planning and the Teaching Staff coordinator.Member of the EDO (Organisational Development Team) Consolidated Research Group. Founding member of EDULID (the Iberian Observatory for Educational Leadership) and founding editor of the International Journal of Educational Leadership and Management-IJELM. She has participated in international research projects on educational leadership, including the “Changing Educational Systems through a Whole Child Development Leadership-WCDL programme in Portugal and Spain”. The “International Study of Teacher Leadership Study" (ISTL); the “BPBP Project”, with researchers from Argentina, Brasil, Portugal and Spain;" Project EDUGest- Gestâo Escolar e Melhoria das Escolas” (School Management and School Improvement) led by the Catholic University of Portugal-UCP.She has taught courses on educational leadership in Spain (for the educational governments of Galicia, Community of Madrid and Catalonia), the Ivory Coast, Portugal, Chile, Colombia, Peru, Argentina and the Dominican Republic.Areas of scholarship: educational leadership, school management, organisational learning in schools and universities, leadership training, and initial teacher education.Teaching foci: educational leadership, policy analysis, training and development of educational leaders, middle tier leadership.
