Professional appointment: Full professor, College of Education, Autonomous University of Yucatan
Professional profile: In 1984, Edith J. Cisneros-Cohernour began to work as an instructor for the college of Law at the Autonomous University of Yucatán. Since 1987, she became a professor for the College of Education at this university. Between 1994 and 2001, she worked in teaching, research and evaluation for the College of Education, the National Transition Alliance for Youth with Disabilities, and the Center for Instructional Research and Curriculum Evaluation at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
In addition to the Fulbright Scholarship (1993-1996), she was selected as Bagley Scholar by the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (1995-1996; 1996-1997) and received recognition from the University Council of Educational Administrators (2001), and from the American Educational Research Association (2001). She is a member of the Mexican National System of Researchers (Level-III). Dr. Cisneros has presented and published the results of her research in Latin America, the United States and Europe.
