During the MAFLT Program, I completed many different tasks that were designed to connect the theories I have encountered with my pedagogical practices. The topics of interculturality, technology, and assessment play major roles in today's foreign language classroom. A successful foreign language teacher should understand these topics and know how to successfully incorporate them into their teaching. Because of my coursework in the MAFLT Program, I feel that my skills in each area have grown tremendously and I feel more confident in each respective area. I have taken these topics and considered how to use them in my classroom to help progress my students' learning and I believe I am a more well-rounded teacher because of it. The links below go to projects and activities that demonstrate my emerging expertise in key areas of language teaching.
I designed two activities that demonstrate how interculturality can be incorporated into the foreign language classroom.
I created an assessment to align with my foreign language department's current curriculum, as well as other assessment materials, including an Integrated Performance Assessment (IPA).
I wrote a description of an ideal technology-infused classroom as well as an evaluation of the popular language-learning tool, Duolingo.
