I began learning Spanish as a freshman in high school and immediately fell in love. I took Spanish all four years and knew that I wanted to continue studying it in college. I eventually decided to major in Spanish, which exposed me to the language at a higher level. While in college, I spent a semester in Mexico, studying at two different schools, one of them an intensive language institute. After graduating from college, I participated in a program sponsored by the Chilean government teaching English to K-12 students for six months, which really helped improve my Spanish skills. Apart from spending time in Spanish-speaking countries, I have tried to immerse myself in the language by listening to music, reading, and watching television in Spanish. More recently, I have been trying to teach myself French by using various websites and resources, trying to immerse myself as I did with Spanish. I would also like to continue learning other languages in the future as well.
