The essay to the right presents key principles that I use to guide my language teaching and also explains how I carry out those principles in my classroom. I try to focus on language acquisition instead of just language learning, providing my students with sufficient input. Like a first language, students need input in order to produce output and I primarily do use with stories, questions, and reading. My beliefs and practices have grown and evolved since I began teaching, as I have continued to learn and incorporate new methods and strategies into my teaching. In the essay, I discuss my growth as a language teacher and what I would like to do more of in the future.
