I made this presentation for the FLEx Conference as part of the Program Development & Administration course to address a need I believe many World Language programs have. Often, different WL teachers take very different pedagogical approaches in their classes and departments have a difficult time agreeing on how to teach the language. These different approaches to teaching language, which result in differing syllabus design, are due to the fact that these teachers have different beliefs about how the language can be taught and learned. This presentation gives some background information on syllabus design in foreign language teaching and then makes recommendations for how programs can address this challenge in their alignment.
