What do I believe about teaching and learning foreign languages?

The essay below presents key principles that I use to guide my language teaching and also explains how I carry out those principles in my classroom. I have come to this philosophy of language teaching and learning through my own experiences as a learner and a teacher, through my MA in Foreign Language Teaching coursework, and most importantly through continual reflection.
