Throughout my MAFLT Program, I engaged in various tasks aimed at bridging the gap between theoretical concepts and my pedagogical practices. The projects showcased below highlight my growing expertise in key areas of language teaching: Assessment, Interculturality, and Technology. These courses provided me with the necessary knowledge to develop the projects you will find. As someone who did not initially embark on a teaching career, the instruction and information I received hold immense value. I am confident that this experience has equipped me to excel and become a more effective educator.
For my final project, I designed an Integrated performance assessment covering crucial language skills for real-life situations. Students simulate a XV años committee, working together to organize a party for a friend. This project encompasses listening, speaking, reading, and writing tasks, enhancing their language abilities holistically.
In our intercultural class, we analyzed the challenges faced by a public school in Pennsylvania. Through a comprehensive analysis, we identified the issues and devised potential solutions to address them effectively. The product that I created from this class, is very extensive, however, uses technology in every single lesson. We must remember that technology is only an aide to help our students develop their skills, and that is why this feature is use this way.
The material developed in the Language and Technology class consists of 6 soccer lessons. These lessons cover topics such as understanding soccer rules, exploring rivalries in Latin American countries, and practicing broadcasting a game in the target language.
