My name is Veronica Arriaga-Orts, and I come from Mexico. In 2007, my family and I made the exciting decision to move to Pennsylvania. It was a major transition in our lives, but it opened up new opportunities for us. At that time, I decided to embark on a career change, transitioning from being an architect to becoming a teacher. Teaching has always held a special place in my heart, and I am grateful for the chance to make a positive impact on the lives of my students. I continued my education by pursuing a Master Degree on Spanish Literature through New Mexico State University and a second Masters in Foreign Language Acquisition at Michigan State University. On the personal front, I am a proud mother of two incredible children. My daughter is currently pursuing her dreams in law school at American University, while my son recently celebrated his graduation from MIT and will continue his education with a PH.D at Caltech. Witnessing their achievements fills me with immense joy and pride. I am truly grateful for my diverse experiences and the endless possibilities that life has brought my way.
Since 2017, I have been working at Spring-Ford High School, a public school located in the outskirts of Philadelphia, specifically in Montgomery County. With a student population close to 8,000 from kindergarten to twelfth grade, it is a vibrant and diverse educational community. During my time at the school, I have had the opportunity to teach Spanish 1, 2, 4, and AP courses. It has been a truly fulfilling experience, and I consider myself fortunate to be a part of such a great district and work in such a fantastic environment.
I am currently teaching Spanish 4 and Spanish AP Language and Culture at Spring-Ford School District in Royersford, Pennsylvania.
