WOW! A very hard question! My teaching Philosophy and my teaching practices have changed very often and every year. I have found out that there is something new and exited to try every day, however, my core values are still the say. Click here and take a look at what I believe!
I believe that proficiency is developed every day through practice and by providing students with the right tools. Tools and practice are the keys to success!
I have discovered that when students take control of their learning, it motivates them to work hard and excel. It provides them with a sense of ownership that greatly benefits the language learning process.
Implicit and explicit instruction are the two tools I use to teach grammar and vocabulary. Having a variety of tools is important to cater to all learning abilities and styles.
Real-life materials are the right tools to teach cultural awareness because they incorporate authentic information for native language learners. Exposing students to these materials broadens their knowledge and perspective of the Spanish-speaking world.
