This section outlines projects in which I have planned for classroom research as well as engaged in some data analysis from audio recordings and interviews with fellow language teachers. You will find my Classroom Research Proposal involving a quantitative data analysis of students’ language production, a Program Review in which I analyzed qualitative data by way of artefacts and quotations, and thirdly a Classroom Language Analysis in which I examined the communicative repertoires present in the transcript of an audio-recorded lesson from one of my French classes.
This section highlights three projects for which I engaged in reading scholarly articles to glean insights on research that has been undertaken in the field of language study. You will find a research paper, an article presentation, and a project on language variation in mainland France.
Graduate students at Michigan State University are required to complete training in Responsible Conduct of Research. In the MAFLT Program, that training involves four modules provided by the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) and at least 6 hours of discussion-based training, completed in the form of asynchronous online discussions in various courses. See this page for topics in Research Ethics and the courses in which they are discussed.
