I began learning French in middle school and loved it so much that I never stopped! I continued all through high school and college, ultimately majoring in French and minoring in English. After completing my undergraduate degree, I lived in Lyon, France for seven months where I worked as an English assistant in a high school. I lived in a dormitory-style hallway within the school, sharing a kitchen and bathroom area with the other assistants hailing from Italy, Russia, and Honduras. Interactions with my fellow assistants, my students, the teachers, church members, and other friends I made along the way were conducted completely in French. This immersive experience helped me to grow in my French proficiency and intercultural perspective on products, practices and perspectives from cultures other than my own.

I took advantage of school breaks to visit other parts of France. I started with Provence and Marseille (above) in the fall.
During winter break I visited Chamonix in the French Alps! I went skiing for the first time, believe it or not!
In the spring, my parents came to visit!
We traveled to Paris in addition to Lyon.
I was a very demanding tour guide. : )
